  • How long is each lesson? (30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour?)
    I have 2 options, 60 or 90 min lessons.
  • Do I need to own a guitar before starting lessons?
It's better to purchase a guitar because you want to practice on a regular basis at home. However, If you're trying to see if you like it or not you can use my guitar in the studio during lessons. I also help people to choose a guitar.
  • What styles of music do you teach? (Rock, jazz, blues, classical, etc.)
Rock, pop, jazz, blues, country, funk, soul, metal, alternative, bossa nova, surf... Pretty much all commercial music genres and subgenres. The main focus is on rock, blues and jazz though.
  • Do you teach beginners, intermediate, and advanced players?
All levels. Preferably intermediate and advanced, but beginners are cool too. Most students start as beginners
  • What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson?
I'm pretty flexible when people ask to reschedule. But I have these official cancellation policies: Missing a lesson: - If you miss a lesson, you are free to make it up after the missed lesson. - 24 hour advance notice is required to be eligible for a makeup. - Cancelling a scheduled makeup forfeits that additional makeup lesson. - To cancel or reschedule, please log in to your account, go to My Bookings, and click Reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Do you provide lesson materials, or do I need to buy books/sheets?
I create customized materials during each lesson individually for each student. However, I'm finishing up an instructional method book soon and would like to provide it through my website as optional material to purchase.
  • Do you have experience teaching kids and adults?
Yes, I have 20 years of music teaching experience. I've worked with groups as well as one on one lessons. The age range is from about 6-7 year old kids to adults in their 60s. The most preferable age is from teens and up, because it's a little harder to make young kids pay attention for longer than 10 minutes.
  • Can you help me prepare for performances or auditions? (mention live performances/auditions you have done)
Yes, I can. Like I mentioned above, I help prepare for college or professional band auditions as well as with performances, songwriting, song arranging and production.
  • Can you teach me how to set up and maintain my guitar?
Yes, absolutely. I actually prioritize teaching my students how to care for their instruments instead of immediately sending them to a shop. Understanding how your guitar works is part of becoming a confident player. That said, many students feel nervous about adjusting anything on their guitar at first—and I totally get it. That’s why I also offer string changes, setups, and basic maintenance as an add-on service. I want every student to play on a guitar that’s comfortable, properly set up, and inspiring to pick up.
